This 8 to 9-hour Krabi day trip combines thermal pools, a rainforest walk to the Emerald Pool, Thai lunch, and Tiger Cave Temple. “A great way of seeing nature in Krabi! We expected a group tour but ended up being just us, the guide Otto and driver Leo which was great. Otto and Leo were amazing and knew how to get everywhere when it wasn’t busy so we avoided the crowds. The emerald pool and area are beautiful (we were the first people there!) and the hot springs really relaxing to sit in for half an hour. Leave Sofia at 9:00 AM for Rila Monastery, a UNESCO site with striped arcades, frescoes, and Orthodox treasures. After a guided visit or free exploration, choose the National History Museum, monastery museum, Saint John’s Cave hike, or mineral spa. Spend up to 10 hours exploring West Iceland with an English-speaking guide. Visit Glanni, Deildartunguhver, Reykholt, Hraunfossar, Sturlureykir Horse Farm, and Viðgelmir Lava Cave. Expect a small group of no more than 19, a cold and sometimes slippery cave, homemade hot-spring bread, and lunch at your own expense.

From Ao Nang, travel by air-conditioned minivan with an English-speaking driver to Tiger Cave Temple, Emerald Pool, and Hot Spring Waterfall. You can tackle 1,237 steps for wide Krabi views, swim in a forest spring, and relax in warm mineral pools. Entrance fees are extra, and the temple climb requires good fitness.

Launch near the base of Hoover Dam through restricted access, then paddle the calm Colorado River to Willow Beach. Along the way, you can visit Sauna Cave, Goldstrike Hot Springs, Boyscout Canyon, Arizona Hot Springs, geothermal waterfalls, and Emerald Cove. Travel from Batumi into western Georgia for Martvili Canyon’s waterfalls and boat ride, Prometheus Cave’s stalactites and underground lakes, and a soak at Nokalakevi Hot Springs.
